The Princess and the Frog Story Time

Today we invited friends over to our Pretty Princess Preschool

We stared out by "Going on a Dragon Hunt"

Then I told the story of "St. George and the Dragon" using my felt story boards.
(Remember to check out my fundraiser page if you decide to order something)

The secret to a good story teller is to make sure to make really funny faces.

Next I read the story "There's No Such Thing As a Dragon"
Just checked it out from the library.

Next I told the story of "The Princess and the Frog"
using the same felt set (the stories can be purchased separately without the board) .

Here I am pretending to cry because the Princess lost her favorite ball.

The Princess kissed the frog and he turned into a handsome Prince.

Next we sang "Five Little Speckled Frogs" using fingerplay puppets.
(sorry no picture)

To finish off our story time we did a frog craft

Yes, Nevaeh is wearing a frog shirt to go with our theme.
It says "Toadally Spoiled" Any arguments :)

This frog is made with a brown paper bag, white oval eyes that we folded down the bottom half of,
two black circles, 6 small green circles and 5 medium green circles plus 1 strip of 1 inch red construction paper.

After Nevaeh's friends left we finished up our day with some adorable printable worksheets from
1+1+1=1 Preschool Packets

Nevaeh is working on her shapes using the Princess Packet

and here she is finding the picture that is not the same

I love all the ideas on this site and how they suggest you use clear plastic protectors to put the worksheets in so the child can use the sheets over again.

  3. Any washable markers will work. I use Rose Art they have a pack with 24 colors that is less than $5.

  4. I was using wipe-board markers but they are expensive. Thanks Dora for the tip on just using regular washable markers. The Rose Art ones are a lot cheaper and since Nevaeh always leaves the lids off of the markers I am good with cheaper.
